Technicians specialized in servicing networked office equipment provide after-sales service, that is, they maintain, install, repair and service photocopiers, personal computers, fax machines, cash registers, and other types of networked equipment. Given that computer networks are complex, this AVS program gives technicians the opportunity to expand what they already know about this field. Following their training, these workers have the skills required to install, troubleshoot, adjust and repair different types of electronic office equipment as well as networked operating systems. These specialists are generally employed by computer centres, office-equipment repair shops, and large companies and institutions that hire technicians to maintain their networked office equipment. Some of these specialists prefer to be self-employed or start their own technical-support companies.
